Description

Trigger Pilates combines Pilates core moves with clinical myofascial principles. By using various props, It is designed to release tight muscles, enhance functional daily movement and release tight fascia in the body.

What is fascia?

It is a system of connective tissue that lays just under the surface of the skin and extends throughout the entire body in layers and pockets. It wraps around all your muscles and organs – it’s everywhere and literally holds the body together. It is a highly reactive tissue full of nerve cells and is highly sensitive to physical trauma (like repetitive physical movements and surgery) and also emotional trauma. These traumas cause fascia adhesions to form (trigger points) which in turn can create inflammation, chronic pain or even change the way your joints move.

This class can be beneficial if you have specific health issues – e.g. regular headaches, arthritis, fibromyalgia, menopause symptoms, mobility issues or if you are recovering from surgery. It can be equally beneficial for runners, cyclists, golfers etc to offer release from the repetitiveness of the sport.
