Ashtanga/Vinyasa Workshops with Louise Tuczemskyi and Melissa Stansfield.

Join us for Ashtanga-style workshops, with a different focus each time, such as back-bending poses, arm balances, or Sun Salutations.
The mornings are intended to be hands-on, playful and fun. They are aimed at those that enjoy a more energetic yoga practice. As always, modifications, alternatives & props will be offered under our expert guidance.

For those who are not familiar with Ashtanga Yoga, here’s a little summary…..

Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga said to be derived from an ancient manuscript called yoga Korunta. This text was imparted to Sri T Krishnamacharya c1900 who then taught it to his student Sri K Pattabhi Jois. Jois then used this as the basis for Ashtanga Yoga (Ashtanga means 8 Limbs) which he started teaching in 1948.

Ashtanga Yoga is a relatively physically demanding/dynamic form of yoga , where a set sequence of postures is followed – flowing from one to the other in time with your breath.

Traditionally, the practice starts with 5 Sun Salutation A’s and 5 Sun Salutation B’s, standing asanas (postures), seated asanas & inversions.

Central to the practice is Ujjayi (victorious) breath, drishti (focus) & Bandha (seals/locks to direct energy in the body & create stability).

Ashtanga is made up of six series – primary, intermediate & four advanced series.

Art for Mindfulness Workshops

Your chance to combine learning a new skill with practising mindfulness. Each session will focus on a different art or craft, e.g. Water Colours, Macrame etc. The sessions are intended to be informal and fun (the mindfulness part comes when you practise what you’ve learnt at home).

  • All levels of ‘artisticness’ are welcome.

Kundalini Workshop with Lucy Hayward.

Kundalini is a Sanskrit word that translates as ‘coiled serpent’. It is a beautiful & powerful divine feminine energy that sits at the bottom of the spine waiting to be awakened. We all possess this energy and it has the ability to positively transform our lives.

Kundalini Yoga is the set of tools and techniques that help us to work with the divine kundalini energy so that we can live a healthy & happy life.

Often referred to as the ’Yoga of Awareness’, it works to shift dense energy and trapped trauma out of our systems, bringing some of our shadows up to the surface and out into the light.
